Comprehensive Dental Care
The Project Smile Program aims to reduce the number of adults and children with untreated dental disease. Through Emergency Department and community based referral programs, Project Smile provides free oral health education, prevention and comprehensive restorative treatment to uninsured, low-income individuals in Miami Dade.
The Project Smile Program supports the mission of Caring For Miami by providing free dental services to the under served, educating patients on the importance of oral health and overall well-being and putting wheels on the Gospel through personal evangelism.
We educate patients on the importance of maintaining good oral health, the correlation between oral health, diabetes and hypertension, and the implications of oral health and chemotherapy treatment for patients receiving cancer treatments.
Preventive Screenings and Restorative Treatment
We provide patients with comprehensive oral health exams and oral cancer screenings. Our dedicated team of volunteer and employed dental hygienists provide patients with prophylaxis, fluoride application, gross debridement, scaling and root planning. In addition, we provide fillings, extractions and single unit root canals.
Volunteer Healthcare Provider Program
Are you interested in using your professional dental training to give back to your community? If so, Caring for Miami can help you use your skills to meet the dental needs of under resourced individuals in South Florida. Caring For Miami cooperates with the Florida Department of Health to provide sovereign immunity to dental professionals who provide services on our dental unit. Under Sovereign Immunity the State of Florida assumes responsibility for any liability, thus protecting dentists and health care workers to practice in a “worry free” environment.
